The Lucid Air is a luxury electric car with breathtaking performance created by former Tesla execs. The all-electric saloon is said to soar to 217mph with the first models delivered next year.
Feast your eyes upon the Lucid Air, a 1,000 horsepower EV created by former Tesla execs and costing a massive $8,000 less than its rivals’ Model S.
With the right spec, owners can cover up to 400 miles between charges and benefit from autonomous driving hardware – although be warned, that will take the projected $60,000 entry level price tag above six figures.
Nevertheless, the Lucid Air could be a Tesla killer offering best-in-class energy density. It says its powertrain is smaller and more efficient than rival offerings, designed after 10 years of battery pack development.
The Silicon Valley startup has also signed a deal with electric motorsport Formula E to be the sole battery provider to all teams.
Inside, everything is decidedly Tesla-esque as you might imagine, with a large, floating touchscreen dashboard. Other features include voice and app activation.
Reservations for the Air are already being taken and Lucid hopes to deliver 10,000 vehicles in its first year.
