The Element Katana is a £250 iPhone 7 case that secures your handset with screws.
Named after a traditional Japanese sword, the Element Katana is a phone case charged with giving your phone the sort of protection a samurai would be proud of.
Featuring a proprietary SLS Screw Lock System, which secures your iPhone by surrounding it with eight screws, the case is formed from high grade stainless steel and a G10 high pressure carbon fibreglass composite.
The use of exotic materials doesn’t end there because the precision-machined and hand-finished Katana is wrapped in walnut and top grain leather, which Element says gives each case a unique character.
Every Katana comes with shock absorbing TPU corner supports to suspend and cushion the bezel of your iPhone so it doesn’t get damaged by the screws. Naturally, drop protection meets military specification requirements – dread the thought of being deprived the opportunity to Instagram from the front line.
A rose gold version adds something called Tough-Luxe – a PVD coating for extra wear and corrosion resistance – but only a limited number will be available. As for the samurai sword link, the Katana has been created by American-Japanese industrial designer Jeff Sasaki.
